Venice Gardens Foundation promoted and carried out the restoration of the Royal Gardens of Venice, reopening them to the public in December 2019, following a complex intervention costing just over six million euros, with the support of Generali Assicurazioni.
In December 2014, in order to halt the progressive deterioration of this site of noteworthy historical and environmental interest, the State Property Office and the City of Venice entrusted the Monumental Royal Gardens Complex to Venice Gardens Foundation so it would restore them and conserve them in time.
The Foundation appointed landscape architect Paolo Pejrone to oversee the Gardens’ botanical restoration and put architect Alberto Torsello in charge of architectural restoration and rebuilding the Greenhouse.
Today, their formal beauty and botanical complexity restored, the Royal Gardens with their lush growth and unexpected perspectives once more play a key role in the life of the city.
